Most archaeological research in Lao PDR has focused on the historical period - a time rich in culture, but providing only about 1000 years of cultural understanding. This exhibit tells the story of an international team working in Luang Prabang province since 2005. MMAP is doing groundbreaking work in investigate the ancient beginnings of culture in Lao PDR, while also helping to build Lao capabilities in archaeological research and heritage management
